Our civilization is truly a melting pot of various people with diverse ideas, religions, values, races, and many exclusive attributes that make for society. Some believe that this very assortment is what makes the U.S. great; some trust the opposite. What is true is that this variety makes many challenges and often great struggle. As an outcome, overtime laws ratified to discourage unreasonable behaviors. California has passed not only anti-discrimination laws but also hate crime laws. Other states have done similarly. During the last few years, there has also been a powerful anti-immigrant emotion that often leads to not only judgment against people because of their alleged ethnicity or nationality, but the strong anti-immigrant soppiness leads to crimes committed against these people.
